3rd Annual GLOW 5K scheduled Saturday

Relay For Life volunteers have come together once again to plan their glow in the dark fundraiser, the GLOW 5K Walk and Run in St. Clairsville. This year, the committee has planned some extras to ensure the event is bigger and brighter than ever.

“We will have the course completely lit up with rope lighting again this year,” said Brian Kralovic, a member of the GLOW course committee and city grounds keeper in St. Clairsville.

The committee has also added opportunities for their 500 plus expected participants to glow even brighter this year. Participants get one complimentary glow item and a neon shirt (while supplies last).

There will also be volunteers selling several glow in the dark items on race day including light up LED balloons and glow in the dark necklaces. Even the awards are light up and glow in the dark for this year’s event.

“We people to have fun with it. So we will be offering prizes for participants that glow the brightest again this year,” said GLOW committee member Scott Ballint.

Participants are encouraged to check in early and register Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. and starting at noon on Saturday at the amphitheater by the football field in St. Clairsville.

Registration will close at 8 p.m. Saturday night and the race is set to begin behind the Belmont County Courthouse at 8:30 p.m.
