Kirkland to curate county museum
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Andrew Kirkland looks forward to taking up his position as curator of the county museum, to be located in the former sheriff’s residence. He said the museum is a few months away from functioning and may be operational in the fall. They are still awaiting loans of pictures and items from the various historical societies around the county. The items will be displayed in galleries.
Kirkland said the objective is to utilize the county’s history to boost tourism by displaying items of interest.
They hope to encourage tourists to visit these communities. His position is part time.
