Nice pleads guilty in overdose case
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – A case of a 17-year-old whose life was claimed by drugs will end this week.
Kayla Nice, 24, 115 Hersby Road, Cadiz, appeared Tuesday before Common Pleas Judge Frank Fregiato and pleaded guilty to corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the second degree occurring May 15, 2013 in Pease Township.
Sentence was set for Friday at noon.
Prosecutor Dan Fry said Nice was charged with giving heroin to a juvenile who later overdosed. It is believed this was after taking the drugs given to him by Nice. She faces a maximum of eight years. Fry said his office will recommend six years, adding that the victim’s parent and investigative teams are in agreement.
