Drug, assault cases arraigned

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County Common Pleas Judges Frank Fregiato and John Vavra heard numerous arraignments Thursday.

Corey Jameson Hackett, 24, of 6284 Laguna Circle, Highlands Ranch 2, Colo., pleaded innocent to two counts of assault, one count of driving while under the influence, one count of driving under suspension and one count of resisting arrest, all allegedly having occurred July 30. According to court reports, he was stopped in Smith Township and became belligerent with two Ohio State Highway Patrol officers during his arrest. His bond was continued at $29,825.

David Joseph Allen, 35, incarcerated, pleaded innocent to one count of possession of drugs and two counts of trafficking in drugs in the vicinity of a school, all allegedly on Aug. 19. His pretrial hearing was set for Oct. 23 with a plea agreement deadline Nov. 6 and trial Nov. 16. His bond was set at $25,000.

Chad Ernest Comas, 29, incarcerated until Nov. 1 with his last address in Bridgeport, pleaded innocent to breaking and entering, which allegedly occurred Feb. 14, 2016. His pretrial hearing was set for Nov. 6 with a plea agreement deadline Nov. 20 and trial set for Dec. 12. His bond was set at $2,500.

Thomas Joseph Owen, 40, of Chickasha, Okla., pleaded innocent to harassment with bodily substance, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and driving while under the influence, all allegedly on Aug. 20. His pretrial hearing was set for Nov. 20 with a plea agreement deadline Dec. 18 and trial Jan. 11. His bond was continued at $12,500.

Eban Joseph Keith Beyah, 45, incarcerated with his last address in Cleveland, pleaded innocent to two counts of trafficking in drugs, which allegedly occurred Nov. 4, 2015. His pretrial hearing was set for Nov. 6 with a plea agreement deadline Nov. 20 and trial Dec. 13. His bond was set at $15,000.

Ricki David Rogers, 49, incarcerated, pleaded innocent to a third charge of illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto a detention facility, to be added to his current two charges, all of which allegedly occurred Nov. 20, 2015. His pretrial hearing and plea agreement deadline have passed. His trial remains set for Oct. 24.

Cory James Long, 24, of Chestnut Street in Bridgeport pleaded innocent to trafficking in drugs in the vicinity of a school, which allegedly occurred April 20, 2016. His pretrial hearing was set for Oct. 30 with a plea agreement deadline Nov. 13 and trial Nov. 28. His bond was continued at $2,500.

Charles Raymond-Cody Miller, 21, of 910 Caywood Road, Marietta, Ohio, pleaded innocent to receiving stolen property, which allegedly occurred Sept. 5. A pretrial hearing was set for Oct. 30 with a plea agreement deadline Nov. 13 and trial Nov. 16. Bond was set at $5,000.
