Man arrested in connection with shooting
BELLAIRE — Wheeling police on Wednesday arrested a man wanted in connection with a recent shooting near the Circle K gas station in Bellaire.
Bellaire Police Chief Michael Kovalyk said Shaheim Price, no age or address available, was arrested by Wheeling police on a warrant for felonious assault in connection with the Circle K shooting. No one was injured during that incident.
Kovalyk said Price was arrested during a traffic stop in Wheeling.
Price was taken to the Northern Region Jail in Moundsville. He was arrested as a fugitive from justice because of the warrant and for a possession with intent to deliver charge, according to Northern Regional Jail booking officials.
No bond had been set for him as of Thursday.
A 20-year-old woman, Kara S. Grose, who was in the vehicle with Price also was arrested on a misdemeanor charge, according to the NRJ website. She is being held at the jail on a $5,000 bond.
Kovalyk said the arrest of Price is just the beginning of the investigation, as it is believed more people were involved in the shooting in Bellaire.
At about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 20, Bellaire police responded to a shots-fired call near the Circle K gas station. No one was injured, but shell casings were found at the gas station. Police believe the incident was a drug-related dispute regarding money being owed. One of the people involved fired shots at two others and missed.
