CADIZ — Harrison County began showing their support for the “Light Ohio Blue” campaign on Wednesday by introducing blue lights to the county courthouse.

The statewide campaign is from May 8-16. The courthouse’s blue lights will remain until May 16.

The purpose of project is to generate and show support for law enforcement personnel who protect our local communities.

The campaign encourages businesses and residents to show their support for law enforcement officers, who are currently serving and for those who have died in the line of duty, by placing blue lights around the exterior of their businesses and homes.

Commissioners Paul Coffland and Don Bethel want to remind residents to drive by the courthouse, at night, to view the blue lights they have had installed in support of the project.

“In honor of law enforcement, for a week, the courthouse will be lit up blue. … Take a trip through town in the evening.”

This is Harrison County’s first year participating in the campaign.
