NO ONE was injured in the partial collapse of a city-owned building this morning in the 800 block of Broadway Street in Martins Ferry.
Mayor Robert Krajnyak said the city was in the process of hiring a contractor to raze the structure after he noticed recently that the two-story brick building’s roof was sagging.
A neighboring house received some damage and the people living there are staying with relatives until the former Martins Ferry High School Booster building is razed. Edgeco Inc. is scheduled to begin razing the building sometime this afternoon. That section of road will remain closed until the work is done.
