JACKOWSKI, Laura M., 91, of Flushing, OH, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at her home.

She was born February 14, 1921, at Oco, OH, a daughter of the late Carlo and Luigia Chini Magnani.

Laura was a retired co- owner of the former Binns Grocery Store in Flushing for many years. Prior to this, she was a cook at the Lafferty Grade/High School cafeteria. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, CWC and served in the Eucharistic ministry for over 20 years, Women of the Moose and was instrumental in forming the Lafferty VFD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Jackowski in 1973; and a brother, Primo Magnani.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen (Tom) Greenlee of Asheville, NC; sons, Michael (Tammy) Jackowski of Belmont, OH, Robert (Anna Marie) Jackowski of Richmond, KY and Carl (Gayle) Jackowski of Flushing; a sister, Lydia Lombardi of Houston, PA; sisters-in-law, Josephine Magnani of St. Clairsville, OH and Joan Cherry of Sterling Heights, MI; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory, 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville where a vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Flushing with Fr. Chester Pabin and Fr. Frederick Kihm as co-celebrants.

Burial follows in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lafferty, OH

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Medi Home Care & Hospice or American Heart Association.
