PERSINGER, Arch “Squib”

PERSINGER, Arch “Squib” 93 of Jacobsburg, OH, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.

He was born November 3, 1919, in Plymouth, WV, a son of the late Arch R. and Clorie M. Huffman Persinger.

Squib was a retired coal miner at North American Coal Company’s 3 mine at Powhatan Point, OH, a Methodist by faith and a member of UMWA, VFW Post 626, and a WWII US Army Air Corp Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Imogene Doty Persinger, sons, Gilbert (Joni) Persinger of Loxahatche, FL., Randy (Kathleen) Persinger of Delmar, DE. And Todd Persinger of Jacobsburg, one brother, Gerald Hoffman of Nelsonville, OH, three grandchildren; Melissa, Scott and Logan, six great-grandchildren; Elizabeth, John William, Amanda, Jocelyn, Samantha and Clayton and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, OH with Pastor Roger Doty officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery.
