HAINES, Ida Santavicca
HAINES, Ida Santavicca, 91 of Stratford, New Jersey formerly of Shadyside, Ohio, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Laurel Manor in Stratford, New Jersey.
She was born in Bellaire, Ohio, on October 9, 1921, a daughter of the late Julius and Mary Colepelle Santavicca.
Ida was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church in Shadyside, Ohio, past president of the Catholic Womens Club; past president of the Shadyside Democrat Womens Club, Precinct Committeeman for over 35 years, past president of the Belmont County Council, past president and life member of the American Legion Post 521 Auxiliary and past secretary to the 11th District of the American Legion Auxiliary and past president of the Womens Club of Shadyside.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley E. “Hank” Haines on June 21, 2005, and one son-in-law, Tony Valachovic.
Surviving are her two daughters, Anita (Chuck) Wiley of Blackwood, New Jersey and Linda Valachovic of Bellaire, Ohio; one brother, D.J. (Patricia) Saint of Coconut Creek, Florida;
A nephew, who was like a son, Dr. Daniel (Carolyn) Saint of Troutman, North Carolina. Also four grandsons, Clint (Lauren) Wiley of Sommerdale, New Jersey, Chad (Jacqueline) Wiley of Staten Island, New York, Jason (Tammy) Valachovic of Shadyside, Ohio and Brad Valachovic of Bellaire, Ohio and five great-grandchildren, Jade, Shay, Carson and Faith Wiley and Courtney Valachovic and two step great- grandchildren, Andrew and Alexandra Gordon; a nephew, Brian Saint and a niece, Marilyn Saint-Velez both of Florida; a great- nephew, Dan (Faith) Saint of Charlotte, North Carolina and a great niece, Lauren Saint of San Francisco, California.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauk necht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside, Ohio on Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 12 Noon at the St. Mary Catholic Church Shadyside with Fr. Samuel R. Saprano, as Celebrant. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
