PORCO, Richard, 91, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died at Forest Hill Nursing Home on Thursday, June 13, 2013.
He was born February 19, 1922, in Clymer, Pennsylvania, son of the late Carmine and Teresa Magnone Porco.
Richard was a retired employee from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star; He was a member of the VFW in Bellaire; the DAV; a loyal union member; he was a board member of Rescare Corporation and he was an avid polka dancer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Rose Porco; four brothers, Benny, Steve, Frank and Guido Porco; and a sister, Edith Billingsley.
Richard is survived by his wife, Mildred Dobzynski Porco; three children, Monty C. Porco of Louisville, Kentucky, Marlin “Rick” Porco of St. Clairsville and Bonita “Bonnie” Marsh of St. Clairsville; six grandchildren, Nicola Smith, Michael Porco, Marie DeVault, Michael DeVault, Richard Porco and James Porco; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Ann O’Donnell, Margaret Hutchinson and Dora Porco.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Sunday from 4-7 p.m., where Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Monsignor George Coyne officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
Full Military Honors will be conducted on Monday at 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home by the Belmont County VFW Honor Guard.
