ODORIZZI, Norman John “Boots”, 91, died Saturday, August 03, 2013 at Belmont Manor Nursing Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio.
He was born November 29, 1921 in Flushing, Ohio a son of the late James and Mary Melchiori Odorizzi.
He graduated from Flushing High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was employed by East Ohio Gas Company for 32 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Flushing, Ohio and a member of the American Legion Post 366 for 57 years and a member of the Cadiz Country Club.
He was preceded in death by brothers Eugene, Henry, Louie, and Sisters Emma and Lena.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Sara Wheatley Odorizzi of St. Clairsville, a Son Edward (Lynne) Odorizzi of Dublin, Ohio, a daughter Deborah (Kevin) Reed of St. Clairsville and granddaughters Lauren Odorizzi of Oak Park, Illinois, Lindsay (Todd Jackson) Reed of Findlay, Ohio and Leandra Reed, St. Clairsville. He is also survived by a brother, William Odorizzi Sr. of Centerville, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville on Monday from 4-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 4 p.m. and American Legion Evening Service at 7:45 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Flushing on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Father Frederick Kihm the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.
Flushing American Legion Post 366 will conduct Full Military Honors at the graveside.
