YONAK, Theodore M. “TED”, 93, formerly of N. 8th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio died Thursday, November 21, 2013.
Ted was born in Johnstown, Pa. on February 29, 1920, a son of the late Albert and Mary (Kozuszck) Yonak.
Ted was a retired cranemen for the former Blaw Knox of Wheeling. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Martins Ferry; a member of the Belmont Jefferson Co. Beagle Club, B.P.O. Elks Lodge 28 of Wheeling, former Eagles and V.F.W. of Martins Ferry and the Polish Club of Fairpoint, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia (Koler) Yonak ; two brothers, John and George Yonak and a sister, Wanda Gramatikos.
He is survived by a daughter, Cherlyn J. (Stephen) Bradley, Leesburg, FL; brother, Stanley (Barbara) Yonak, Wheeling, WV. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Keller Funeral Home, 615 Hanover Street, Martins Ferry where friends will be received Sunday 5-7 p.m. Wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Martins Ferry at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2013, with Rev. Tom Marut as the celebrant. Mausoleum entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
