YOUNG, Carl Edward, 74, passed away quietly at his home in Barnesville, OH on Friday, December 6, 2013.
He was born January 31, 1939 in Mansfield, OH to the late Roscoe and Marie Young.
He was a graduate of Quaker City High School in 1957 and attended Mt. Vernon Bible College. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served for more than 11 years as a Chief Petty Officer aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Vietnam War. He joined the Department of Defense as a Computer Defense Specialist, working with nearly 90 other security and intelligence operations within a 16 state region as well as other organizations within Europe and North America. He retired in 1993 and moved to Barnesville thereafter.
Carl is preceded in death by both parents as well as his brothers, Dave and Richard and sisters, Eleanor and Margaret.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon J. (Smith); three sons, Cy (Chris) Young, Ty (Karen) Young and Bret (Mary) Young all of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter, Corina (Brian) Singleton of Barnesville; six grandchildren, Brent, Ryan, Erica, Austin, Tony and Alyssa; two great-grandchildren, Nickolas and Arianna; brother, Fred Young of Newcomerstown; two sisters, Martha of Delaware and Marilyn of Washington Courthouse; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. at Campbell- Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
