FIUTEM, Sandra “Sandy” K.

FIUTEM, Sandra “Sandy” K., 68, of Medway, MA passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on January 10, 2014, after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was the wife of the late Robert L. Fiutem for 26 years until he passed in 1990.

Sandy is survived by her children, Lisa F. Winchell and husband, Tom of Canton, MA, Stacey L. Fiutem of Medway and Chad R. and wife, Paola of Bluffton, SC; and her grandchildren, Ethan, Calvin and Dylan Winchell and Samuel and Sofia Fiutem.

Sandy was born in Wheeling, WV July 29, 1945, the daughter of the late Larry and Helen Hockenberry.

She was one of five sisters, Elizabeth Kobasko of Wheeling, Barbara Breiding of Pittsburgh, PA the late Mary Trouten and the late Norma Britt, both of Wheeling.

Before her retirement she worked for many years for Genzyme Corporation in Framingham, MA as well as being a homemaker.

She loved life, her family and her friends. She liked dancing, traveling, and being outdoors. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, going to her grandchildren’s ball games, to the beach and on many fun adventures.

Sandy was an amazing woman with remarkable strength and she touched the lives of everyone that knew her. She had a gentle soul, loved unconditionally, and gave without question.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, St. Clairsville, OH. Vigil service at 3:45 p.m.

Sandy’s Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church St. Clairsville with Fr. Michael Gossett the celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery St. Clairsville.

A memorial service will be held on February 1st from 1-3 p.m. at the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginley funeralhomes. com) 3 Barber St., Medway, MA.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be in Sandy’s name to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123- 1718.
