CROKER, The Rev. Dr. Roberta M. (Leslie), 92, of Martins Ferry, OH, was born February 28, 1922 in Boston, MA, and died Friday, March 28, 2014 in Lemon Grove, CA.

Dr. Croker was Pastor Emeritus of the Rayland, Dillonvale and Glen Robbins Presbyterian Churches and held the distinction of being the female minister with the longest record of ordained service in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).

Dr. Croker was a member of PEO Chapter EB, St. Clairsville, American Association of University Women, Wheeling Woman’s Club, East Ohio Regional Hospital Board of Trustees and the Board of Directors of Ohio Valley Medical Center Health & Education Service.

She was proud to be involved with The Wilds and their conservation efforts, assisting with local viewer weather updates for the News 9 weather broadcasts and serving as a 55 Alive Driver Safety Instructor for several years.

Dr. Croker was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Russell E. Croker.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Rick) Treece, MD, Edina, MN and Rebecca (Michael) Emerson, La Mesa, CA; and her grandchildren, Adam (Tirzah) Treece, Vanessa Emerson, Kit Treece, and Jonathan Emerson.

At Dr. Croker’s request, her body has been donated to the Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, CA, to aid in future medical education and research.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church, Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. An endowed scholarship in Dr. Croker’s name is being established at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Roberta L. Croker Scholarship, c/o Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, 616 N. Highland Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
