John Joseph Louis “J.J.” Williams, 79, of Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Martins Ferry, OH.
He was born January 23, 1935 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Alfred and Ida Dodd Williams.
Mr. Williams was the owner of JJ Williams Electric and Plumbing in Martins Ferry, OH; and a Protestant by faith. He was a member of the Ohio Lodge #1 A.F. and A.M., 32-degree Scottish Rite Mason, past member of the Osiris Temple. He loved wood working and fishing, was a hard worker and a good provider. He was always was ready to help others in need.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffie A. Williams; two brothers, Howard “Buck” Willams and Charles “Budd” Williams.
Surviving are a daughter, Debbie J. Waddell and her husband, Donald of Wheeling, WV; a son, Lance A. Williams and his wife, Julie of Indiana, PA; girlfriend, Roma Daily of Martins Ferry, OH; mother of his children, Shirley A. Williams- McCardle of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Seth and Casey Waddell, Isabella, Caelia, Alexander and Madelyn Williams; two great-grandchildren, Cadence and Izaak Waddell; and Faith Fairbanks; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Road, Wheeling (304-232-2732), with Pastor John Cook officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
Ohio Lodge # 1 will conduct Masonic graveside services.
