Joe Sheba, 87, of Jacobsburg, OH, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.
He was born in Centerville, PA on January 17, 1927, son of the late Joseph and Mary Moravitz Sheba.
Joe was a retired coal miner from North American Coal 3 Mine. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Catholic by faith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Hazel Williams Sheba; his daughter, Elaine Lantz; daughter-in-law, Lora Sheba; a brother, George Sheba; five grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Otoupal, Bobbi Jo (David) Hargrove, Terry (Paige) Sheba Jr., Joseph (Jen) Sheba and Melissa (Daniel) Magenicki; five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his two sons, Gary “Pete” Sheba and Terry L. Sheba Sr.; a son- in-law, Jeff Lantz; three sisters, Mary, Ann and Margaret; and a brother, John.
Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg on Monday from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m., with Pastor Jack Palmer officiating.
