William “Chug” Kurucz died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at his home in Tiltonsville, OH.
He was born on November 4, 1939 in Glen Robbins, OH, to the late Joseph and Rose (Kuhn) Kurucz.
William spent most of his life in Glen Robbins where he raised his own family as well. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and scuba diving. He was a life-long member of the Glen Robbins Fire Department, while serving as chief there for 10 years; and was retired from the former Wheeling- Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Yorkville plant. William was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was extremely passionate about his model trains.
William is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Leona (Skinner) Kurucz; five children, Sharon (Ed) Mason of Yorkville, OH, Lori (Ron) Saxton of Tiltonsville, OH, Tom (Michelle) Kurucz of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Tony (Tracy) Kurucz of Frankfort, N.Y., and Billie Jo (David) Williams of Barnesville, OH; three brothers, Louis (Regina) Kurucz of Rayland, OH, Joseph (Erna) Kurucz of Glen Robbins, OH, Kenneth (Debbie) Kurucz of Glen Robbins, OH; 13 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren; and also leaves behind his beloved Beagle dog, Katie.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to William and celebrate his life on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 3-9 p.m. at the Borkoski Funeral Home, Tiltonsville, OH. The fire department will conduct services at 7 p.m.
Friends will also be received on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the noon service with Pastor Marvin Schooler officiating.
