(Leslie) Gerald Hart, of Phoenix, AZ, died December 21, 2016 at the age of 94.

Born in Belmont County, Ohio, Mr. Hart was a graduate of The Ohio State University. Mr. Hart served in the U.S. Navy and was aboard LST-7 at Normandy on D-Day, 1944.

He served at the Presbyterian Mission, Ganado, Arizona and taught Dairy Science, 1950 – 1952. He retired after teaching fourth grade (Gila River Indian Community, Sacaton, Arizona).

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Helene (nee Merritt) Hart and siblings Francis Hart, Lela (Nee Hart) Green, Barbara (nee Hart) Christy.

He is survived by five children: Gary Lamb-Hart (Cardington, OH), Janice Copelli (Colorado Springs, CO), Greg Hart (Gilbert, AZ), Rita Brosius (Livermore, CA), and Zina Horrell (Phoenix, AZ). Burial at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix.

A memorial service will be held on March 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Messinger Mortuary in Scottsdale Arizona.

An additional memorial service will be held on April 29 at Concord Centerville Presbyterian Church, 46880 Main Street, Jacobsburg, Ohio.
