Donald R. Grant, 79, of Bethesda, Ohio, died January 9, 2019 in Wheeling Hospital.

He was born October 4, 1939 in Centerville, Ohio, son of the late James Robert Grant and Nada Fraley Grant.

Donald was a retired carpenter and foreman with the Belmont County Engineers. He was a member of Centerville Christian Church; a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the NRA.

Don was an avid hunter and raised and loved his horses. He had a great sense of humor and was ornery. Above all, he loved his family especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Perkins Grant; a grandson, Kevin Smith; a great granddaughter, Alexia Smith; two brothers, Charles and David Grant and a sister, Sandra Castello.

Surviving are his five children, Dean Grant, Donna (Bob) Fowkes, Denise (David) Wheeler, Debra Lapira and Dale Grant; a special friend, Delores Durigg; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services beginning at 1:45 p.m. with Full Military Honors by the Belmont County Veterans Association followed by funeral service with Rev. John Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
