Rose Mary Sikora Kowalczyk, 98, formerly of Maynard, OH, died May 10, 2019, at The Courtyard in Salem, OH.
She was born August 25, 1920, in Maynard, OH, a daughter of the late Karol and Mary Saflarska Sikora.
Rose was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked the farm and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Maynard and current St. Frances Cabrini Church in Colerain; the CWC, and a member the Senior Center in Colerain.
In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Kowalczyk; a granddaughter, Abigail Kowalczyk; four sisters, Mary Malenoski, Ann Sikora, Antonia Godaway, Sophia Wodarcyk; and seven brothers, John, Charles, Joseph, Stanley, Frank, Walter, and Andrew Sikora.
Surviving are her three children, Ben S. (Joyce) Kowalczyk of Salem, OH, Barbara (Gary) Waddell of Burleson, TX, and Jim (Teresa) Kowalczyk of Maynard; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, OH, on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 4 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain on Wednesday, at 11 a.m., with Father Timothy McGuire the celebrant. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Cabrini Church in Colerain or St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Salem.
