Albert E. “Gene” Beckett 71, of Shadyside, OH, died July 7, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital Pittsburgh, Pa.
Gene was born August 21, 1947, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Albert J. and Pauline G. Masters Beckett.
He retired from the Belmont County Sheriff’s Department, was a former Bellaire Police officer, a member of the Shadyside American Legion Post 521, along with many numerous organizations. He was a Christian by faith and an Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Judy (Roskovich) Beckett, two sons, Jamie (Heather) Beckett, and Travis (Lindsay) Beckett all of Shadyside, OH, the brother he never had, Chippy Kulazenka of Shadyside, and four grandchildren, Olivia, Bailee, Baden, Brody and his pet dog, “Buddy the Beagle.”
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 1-8 p.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, OH, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Randy Weaver officiating.
Final arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.
Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct services at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
