Adena Lions Club holding flower sale
EVERYTHING WILL be coming up “roses” in Adena when the Lions Club holds its annual flower sale.
The club will be selling a variety of colors of both roses and carnations and your purchase will be delivered just in time for Thanksgiving on Nov. 23. Roses are being sold for the incredible price of $15 a dozen while you can snag 12 carnations for just $13.

VARIOUS COMPUTER classes are being offered at the Puskarich Public Library in Cadiz.
An Introduction to the Internet will be held on Nov. 12 while a basic Email/Internet class is offered on Nov. 19.
Both classes will run from 2:30-4 p.m.
These classes are for those who want to know the basics of the Internet and will provide you with enough knowledge to have fun on the computer, yet will not bore you with too many details.
A Basic Computer Maintenance and Internet Safety “How to Keep Your Computer Safe Online” class will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 and 29.
“Computers tend to bog down over time. Some simple maintenance every 2-4 weeks that takes 10-20 minutes, can be performed at any knowledge level and will keep you computer safer online,” said a member of the library’s staff.
Since class sizes are limited, those interested in any or all of the classes should call 740- 942-2623 to register.
MEMBERS OF the Jewett Fire Department will have their monthly dinner tomorrow beginning at 11 a.m. Included on the menu is a pork chop dinner with vegetable, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Adults eat for $8 and children for $4. Please come by and support your local fire department.
IF YOU would rather enjoy some Italian cuisine on Sunday, the New Rumley United Methodist Church will hold a lasagna dinner beginning at noon and concluding one hour later.
Held in the church fellowship hall, the event is serving as a fund raising event for the United Methodist Men’s Local Coats for Kids Project.

A BLOOD drive will be held Nov. 10 at the Jewett Methodist Church from 1-7 p.m. The public is welcome to participate in this life-saving event!
AN AMISH School Benefit Dinner will be held at the Scio Fire hall on Nov. 12 from 4:30-7:30 p.m.
The all-you-can-eat menu will include chicken, meat loaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade noodles, peas, cole slaw, homemade bread, desserts and beverage. Loaves of bread and whole pies will also be sold.
Cost for each meal is $10 for adults, children 5 through 12 years of age $5 and children 4 and under may eat for free.
Carry outs will be available.
THE SCIO American Legion Sons will sponsor a spaghetti dinner on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 4 p.m. at the Legion Home. Following the dinner the Legion will hold its annual Cash-A-Rama. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Community Christmas baskets.
Mark your calendars for this night of delicious pasta and salads, followed by an evening of entertainment with community involvement.
In addition, on Sunday, Nov. 14, the Legion will hold its annual birthday party for members of the Scio American Legion. Call 740-945-5922 for details.
THE MEMBERS of the Hopedale Volunteer Fire Department will host their Fall Gun Bash 2010 on Saturday, Nov. 20, with doors opening at 1 p.m. Drawings for prizes totaling $7,500 will begin at 3 p.m. The final drawing will be held at 9 p.m.
Tickets are $20 each and may be obtained by contacting any department member of by sending a check or money order to Hopedale VFD, PO Box 271, Hopedale 43976.
The event will be held at the Hopedale Social Hall on 103 Firehouse Lane, Hopedale.
