Fundraiser on tap for cancer patient

Many of our readers may remember Kathy Calhoun sitting in the stands cheering on our Buckeye Local athletes and supporting our teams by working in the concessions stand or at fundraisers. Now it is our turn to support Kathy and cheer her on as she battles Stage 4 lung cancer.

Clean Up and Beautification

The Warren Township Lions Club along with volunteers from the Tiltonsville Methodist Church and the community have come together to assist in the clean up and beautification of the school grounds of South Elementary in Tiltonsville. This effort has provided a welcoming site as our students and families enter the building. Principal Kim Leonard would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this project a success. A second phase is being conducted beginning at 9 a.m. today and all volunteers are welcome.

Fall colors will abound in Yorkville as the Beautification Committee begins planting colorful mums throughout the village. The committee and the village administration would like to thank Bodnar & Son Florist of Rayland for their donations of the mums.

The Village of Tiltonsville recently used funds received from their recreation grant to purchase park and playground equipment for the park at the Pump house ball field. Most area residents have had children play baseball at the Pump house field or actually played baseball there themselves and now the new equipment is being enjoyed by this generation of children of YTR. Hats off to Tiltonsville for this kind gesture.
