Spirit of giving abounding in YTR
The month of May has arrived with a mixture of rain and warmth. Whatever the weather, children have begun the countdown to summer vacation. Seniors are anxiously awaiting graduation and looking forward to the next stage in life. Residents are beginning to plan outdoor events. One thing that is a constant in YTR is the care and concern for others. Almost everything reported in this column depicts the spirit of giving. Fundraisers abound and volunteering is an important part of so many in YTR.

Kudos for a job well done!
The most important day in May is the day we honor our mothers for who they are and what they have helped us to become. Perhaps the toughest, but most rewarding role in life that we will ever have is being a parent. Whether through birth or by choice, giving of one’s self to provide love and support to a child is a role second to none. I have been blessed to have the best mother a woman could want. She is my role model, my champion and the person who can still at my “young” age, comfort me, guide me, and make me feel that all will be ok. I also have the privilege of being called “Mom” by my two children and have the special honor of being “May May” to my grand daughter.
To all the mothers of YTR, I hope that your day is a special as you are. Happy Mother’s Day!
