Reaffirming the kindness of strangers
My mother-in-law, Louise, recently lost money while shopping at Kroger’s in Martins Ferry. While discussing the loss, we were not too optimistic about recovering it, fairly sure that whoever found it, would keep it. But there was a nagging feeling, plus a prayer to St. Anthony, that just maybe someone returned the money to the store. Louise called Kroger’s to find that indeed the money was returned and could be picked up at the office. Events like this reaffirm our belief that there is kindness and honesty in this world. To the “stranger” who chose honesty over greed and to the employees of Kroger’s for their honesty, we applaud you for your care and concern for others. And not to forget, the power of prayer!
