New Leadership

BELMONT COLLEGE has a long and rich academic tradition in Eastern Ohio.

It was formerly known as Belmont Technical College. The school was founded in 1971 in St. Clairsville and has branched off into the Monroe County Center and the North Center in Cadiz.

Belmont College offers a diverse and unique educational experience, encompassing 30 applied associated degrees and 11 certificate programs.

Moreover, the college’s Workforce and Economic Development Department make available classes for those seeking a specific skill-set without the extended time commitment of completing a degree or certificate.

Belmont College is also experiencing a changing of the guard.

President Dr. Joseph E. Bukowski announced in January his intentions to retire. He has served as the school’s president since 1998.

During his tenure, Belmont College experienced much growth and development. We wish him well in retirement.

Dr. Bukowski’s successor was selected last week. He is Dr. Paul Gasparroa unanimous selection by the Belmont College Board of Trustees.

Dr. Gasparroa comes well prepared for his new challenge. He most recently served at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland as a district vice president. He also served as the Eastern Campus President/College Vice President and as district vice president for special initiatives.

Dr. Gasparroa, a father of three, served in the U.S. Air Force for more than two decades.

He will assume his president’s post Aug. 14. Dr. Gasparroa has some big shoes to fill in succeeding Dr. Bukowski.

We wish him well in his quest to elevate an already quality institution.
