State Senator Lou Gentile, D-Steubenville, has fought hard for our area at every stage of his life. Not only does Lou represent my family in the Senate, you can bet that he has been fighting for your family as well.
As his constituent, I am proud to support Senator Gentile in his race for Ohio Senate because he is someone who truly under stands the issues facing Southeast Ohio.
Energy sources like coal and shale gas make up a large portion of our economy. Lou is working every day to support these industries and make sure our workers are protected. He is making sure that coal has a future in southeast Ohio by working with industry and workers. He continues to search for funding to develop future technologies so that coal can compete with other energy sources and have a strong future. He has worked across the aisle in a bi-partisan fashion to get these things done in Columbus. That is why Senator Gentile has earned the endorsement of the United Mine Workers of America.
Lou has introduced legislation to help groups such as military veterans with his Veteran Opportunity Act,which helps veterans get college credit for academic work in the armed forces.
Lou is fighting everyday to get new jobs for us here in his region of Ohio. He is also making sure the jobs we do have, don’t go anywhere. He specifically fought for oversight of new oil and gas industry jobs to make sure they were staying in Ohio and that they would hire Ohio workers.
I know that Senator Gentile will keep fighting for our families if he wins in November. I know that he will continue to always have his door open to a constituent in need. Gentile is someone we can depend on to do what is right for us and what is right in Ohio.
I urge everyone to support Lou Gentile on Nov. 6 for the 30th Senate District in Ohio.
When the RG Steel downfall started, many leaders turned their backs on our workers. Only a few representatives called or visited the hall to see what they could do to help the 1,500-plus men and women who were going to lose their jobs and benefits.
State Senator Lou Gentile was the first to offer his help, and he has been with our workers every step of the way. Even though he was outmanned and outgunned, he was an effective voice for us, working for relief for these hardworking men and women.
The ads that are attacking Senator Gentile are untrue and in my opinion a lie. Lou has always been there for the working men and women of this Valley.
In November, we need to support candidates who have stood up for us and for our community. That’s why I’m voting for Lou Gentile!
