Dear Friends of the Shadyside Public Library, for several years, the Shadyside Public Library has sponsored a reading program based on themes proposed by the State Library of Ohio. We are looking forward to participating in the theme for 2013: Dig into Reading! @ The Shadyside Public Library.
Since state funding to libraries has been declining due to the depressed economy, we depend on contributions and prizes offered from our own community to create a stimulating and fun program for this summer. We need your help more than ever to make this year’s Summer Reading Program a success! Every year we aim to provide some type of award for each and every child who attends our programs and reads books. We are asking for donations of merchandise, gift certificates, coupons, promotional items or cash to help cover our costs for this program. All donations will be used at our Library and every amount, no matter the size, is important and helps us.
Our Summer Reading Program will begin on June 11 and finish at the end of July. Schedules should be available by the end of May. Registration for our summer programs will begin on the last week of May. If you would like to learn more about the library, go to our web page at mfpl.org/ shadyside.asp. As summer approaches, we will be posting our summer programs with days and times for your convenience on our web site. We will also post the names of our sponsors. We will post your name on our site shortly after receiving your contributions! Please send or drop off all contributions to the library at 4300 Central Ave., Shadyside, OH 43947.
