As a student at Ohio University Eastern Campus, in the bachelor of science in applied management program, I have derived skills to be a leader in today’s competitive workforce.
From morning until evening classes, to never ending nights studying, I now have the expertise to manage a company and assist them in success. During my four years of schooling, I had a lot of time to reflect on what it is I wanted to do after graduation; but, until recently, I had no idea. Due to my schools’ program criteria, I had the chance to lightly explore the life of a small business owner right here in the Ohio Valley.
Bridgette McLeod is the owner and manager of Cloud 9 Hair Salon. Cloud 9 is like any other flourishing small business started and thrived from one persons hard work and dedication. Bridgette’s salon is now located on Zane Highway in Martins Ferry. Though her building is small for now, it has never stopped an owner and her great team of stylists to deliver tremendous quality of services to people of all ages. Cloud 9 has been involved in many charity events as well. Bridgette and her team have raised and donated money for local causes as well as helping individuals, such as myself. It’s no surprise to me that her salon is moving to a much larger location where more services will be on the menu. Ohio Valley’s number one salon will now be a sap offering tanning, nails and massages. Upon learning what motivates Bridgette, she is nothing less than an inspiration to me and my career goals. She has taken a dream and turned it into something great that echoes throughout the whole area. Just one visit to Cloud 9 will give you good reason for it being the top salon. With a focus in Paul Mitchell and the personable atmosphere, Cloud 9 makes their entire clientele feel like they are family.
I want to thank Bridgette McLeod for instilling the drive in me for victory and the determination to always follow my dreams. This knowledge could not have been obtained at any school. I wish nothing but achievement for the whole Cloud 9 team.
Good job and good luck ladies!
