Summer Concerts

Dear Editor,

I would like to thank Kevin Barr and his staff at the St. Clairsville Recreation Department for the fine job that they do for the summer concert series at the new amphitheater behind the football field.

My husband and I enjoyed the Tuesday evening concerts and also this past Saturday’s rib-fest. If you did not attend the evening’s fireworks, you don’t know what you missed. it was a perfect summer evening of music, weather and fireworks!

I realized there was a lot going on this past Saturday, i.e., The annual Debbie Green race, the dog kennel show, numerous weddings, etc., but more support needs to be shown to local venues such as the activities that Kevin tries to being into St. Clairsville.

To the people of St. Clairsville (and surrounding areas), you have no idea what you are missing. Free and good entertainment!

Moreover, the amphitheater and playground area is beautiful (to say the least). Everyone with a family should, on Tuesday, evenings, be packing a picnic or ordering a pizza, and coming out to enjoy this beautiful arena. Summertime is way to short here in our valley, and these concerts on Tuesday evenings are done as well as the ones at Oglebay, Heritage Port, Epworth Center, etc. The venues that Kevin is able to book are just as good as those at any of the other festivals.

Everyone should be supporting the hard work that Kevin and his staff have put into make these evenings so enjoyable.

Please show your support and try to attend the remaining concerts. You will not be disappointed.

Clint and Karen Fabry
