Double Dipping

Dear Editor,

I would like to respond to your article about Commissioner Charles R. Probst retiring.

I recently moved here with my family and I see politics here is similar to that where I came from. The gall of politicians to think it is okay with the public that they double dip is ridiculous. There needs to be strict laws to stop these shenanigans, but they would have to pass laws on themselves, so that will probably never happen.

But what could happen here is that the Belmont County Democrat Central Committee can appoint someone else to this seat, and not re-appoint this guy that just wants to double dip. I guess time will tell if they have any degree of intelligence to figure out that he only wants what is best for him and his family, not what is best for the county. He appears to me to be a user of people, and now of your tax dollars. I would be so embarrassed to try something like this. Maybe he just isn’t very bright.

How have you people of this fine county allowed this man to stay in office so long? I bet if you knew he would try to pull this stunt, you never would have voted him in.

I don’t know any of the other two gentlemen interested in the job, so I hope you select one of them. It just sickens me when I see someone trying to take advantage of the system like this politician.

Go retire and stay retired.
