Dear Editor,

What is going on with American Electric Power (AEP) and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO)?

Has anyone looked at their electric bills from AEP? If you haven’t you should. My electric bill currently has over $11 in riders and now AEP has received approval from PUCO to add another rider for a storm that occurred in 2012.

First AEP and PUCO team up and put 1,000 people out of work at Ormet Primary Aluminum Corporation and then PUCO gave AEP approval for a 4.79 rider because they lost revenue by putting Ormet out of business.

Can you say corruption? The last time I looked at AEP’s profit, it was in the BILLIONS!

Someone on a federal level needs to start looking into the relationship between PUCO and AEP. Something is not right here …

In the meantime, everyone that received a bill from AEP needs to let PUCO know that this is out of hand. Their phone number is on the back of the AEP invoice.
