Professor McTeague

Dear Editor,

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Professor Michael A. McTeague for his approximately half century of outstanding teaching and in the providing of administrative services on the post-secondary level, almost exclusively at Ohio University – Eastern, as he was so honored recently for his myriad of achievements during his illustrious career by colleagues and admirers.

For many, professor McTeague is the embodiment of the very best of O.U.E. over the years, as he has greatly contributed to the great success and respect the facility has earned and continues to enjoy.

As a former student at O.U.- E where I had the pleasure to attend from 1969-1973, I had taken several courses taught by Professor McTeague.

Professor McTeague was not only extremely well versed respective to pertinent facts in the subjects he taught, but encouraged discussion and debate as a significant aspect of the learning process, which created an atmosphere in the classroom where the student felt more of an active participant in the historic process.

I vividly recall during my tenure at O.U.- E., Professor McTeague was extremely popular and highly respected, as he projected “life” and new relevancy into the study of the past.

Over the years, Professor McTeague, in addition to his teaching and administrative duties, has also very capably served as a political commentator on local media outlets as well as moderator of numerous “Meet the Candidates” events, as well.

Ohio University-Eastern is the better for the outstanding work of Professor McTeague in their employ over the decades.

I, as a former student, consider myself most fortunate to have been taught and inspired by Professor McTeague those many years ago.

I offer Professor McTeague my sincere thanks, Congratulations on a job well done, and continued success and much happiness in the years to come.

Thank you.
