The community of Beallsville is home to generosity, compassion and love personified. The Monroe County hamlet is small in numbers but HUGE in giving. Each year, Blue Devil country steps up big in the fight against cancer. This year was no different. Through school and community efforts for Rally for Life more than $20,000 was raised this year. That is nothing short of amazing. Even more amazing is the community and student body's four-year fund-raising total exceeds $76,000. Those numbers are amplified by the fact Beallsville has just 400 students in grades K-12. Speaks volumes of the commitment and dogged determination this town has for helping friends in need. Beallsville is home to some of the nicest people I have ever met in this business. Scooter Tolzda, Delmas Moore and Dave Caldwell are three special educators and individuals. They have become good friends of mine through athletics, but they have earned my respect and admiration for their efforts to help people in need. The Blue Devil threesome are joined by a Blue Devil army of compatriots second to none when it comes to stepping up in helping others. The spirit of compassion and charity which envelopes Beallsville is one that should spread boundlessly.
