Friday night......Usually in my family Friday night's are filled with high school football or basketball games. But in the "off-season's"....it's EUCHRE TIME! And, like everything else we do as a family, euchre night is competitive, loud and loads of fun!
For those of you not familiar, euchre is a card game played with a partner. Your "team" tries to score 10 points before the other team to win. Sounds simple....right? However, it's a lot harder to learn then what you think. Once you do though, then you get to "hone" your skills. I think the term that's thrown around our game is "student of game."
Now our games have gotten so competitive that I have actually purchased, "I didn't come here to lose" shirts. I play to win. If you are playing, you should always play to win....in fact go for the jugular I say. That's the art of competition. We "wait in the bushes" in hopes of euchring the other team. We play lone hands in the hopes of jumping up 4 points on the other team. In fact, there has even been the thought of burning a deck of cards because one team kept getting all the "bad" cards.
For tonight's match-up it will be my Aunt Rosie and I versus my mom and her friend Arguell. In the past two weeks we have split wins. Tonight I'm coming with my game face on.....WATCH OUT!
Until next time friends!
