| | Storing MedalsJune 27, 2011 - Robert "Bubba" Kapral Giving back. It's a notable trait, but one all too often overlooked. Bobby Douglas is a legendary figure, both in his native Ohio Valley as well as globally. Douglas is synonymous with wrestling. The former Bridgeport High wrestling state champion is not too big to give back. Olympic medals are precious commodities. They represent lifetime dreams and years of hard work and sacrifice. Douglas' talents, work ethic and character earned him medals from the Barcelona Olympics...keepsakes to say the least. Douglas is a man who has always relished his roots. That being the case, Douglas donated those precious medals to Riesbeck's store in Bridgeport. Why? So that the home folks can view them. They serve as a sense of pride for the Ohio Valley while also providing motivation to youths to chase their dreams and realize anything is possible. Douglas continues to serve in a coaching role for the US development team. He works with up-and-coming matmen. He delivered a powerful message off the mat Sunday by donating Olympic medals for the public to embrace. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
