McGraw Touring Injured
July 16, 2011 - Michael Palmer
If you’ve went to Jamboree in the Hills and caught the Tim McGraw show Friday night, you may have noticed Tim sporting a couple extra “accessories” — a cast on his broken right foot and a cane. Last week on Tim’s Facebook page, Tim reps posted “Broken hearts and broken promises are the stuff of a good country song, but a broken FOOT? Well, the boy’s got STYLE!”
A three-time Grammy Award winner Tim is the son of Tug McGraw, a former major league reliever, he was a high schoool athletic standout, but said this was his first broken bone.
This country tough guy showed fans why he is a country music superstar who has sold over 40 million albums. Eleven of his album have debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country album chart and he has had 21 hit No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country 100 chart.
He told the crowd that despite the injury he loved touring and being on stage entertaining his fans. This is the formula for enduring in the music business, where it is often like sports, with the "What have you done for me lately?" attitude.
I guess there are still some who follow the old saying, "The show must go on!"

The official photo area was closed but I snapped this one in the photo walkway just to illustrate my point. Notice the boot and cane.
