| | Smoke and MirrorsNovember 12, 2011 - Seth StaskeyEach Saturday in the fall, I try to watch Ohio State play football. I've been doing this since I was a young kid, but this season has been tough. As I sit and watch this team week after week, I seriously wonder how they've won six games. Obviously, they're athletes -- regardless of schemes -- are better than the majority of those teams. But, how did this team beat Wisconsin? I realize the game was in Columbus, but OSU's players aren't that good. In a half of football at Purdue, OSU has set the entire sport back at least 30 years. I mean in an era of spread offenses and exciting passing games, Ohio State doesn't run the spread and absolutely can't throw. Other teams around the country make it look so simple, you'd think it was a video game. Obviously, the problems and distractions have taken their toll, but regardless of those, this team just isn't that good. They've won three games in a row, so some fans and even media types were starting to buy into them again. I just don't see it.
