Division III State Final
March 15, 2008 - Seth Staskey
The Ottawa Glandorf Titans have come out with a suffocating pressure that allowed them to build a 14-point lead early in the second period.
The score is now 28-14 and Garaway has numerous turnovers and O-G is shooting 11-of-18 from the floor.
Clock just went under four minutes in the half and Garaway finds itself in a 32-16 hole. Can't solve the pressure, which is coming in several different looks and can't get anything to drop in the halfcourt.
The Pirates just logged their 12th turnover of the half.
Finally, Tyler Gerber gets a clean look and wouldn't you know, he makes O-G pay. Racing the ball up the floor off a missed shot, Gerber dialed long distance from the right wing, making it a 32-23 reading with one minute to go in the half.
It's halftime and O-G owns a 35-23 upperhand.
The turnovers have kept coming and O-G has kept extending its lead. This is turning into a rout real quick. The Titans own a 49-31 lead with less than two minutes to go in the third.
Well, we're through three quarters and the Pirates are on life support, trailing 49-31. Going to be awful tough to come back from this.
Let the party begin for O-G. The Titans are emptying the bench the the champagne is on ice. O-G is about to become state champions for 2008. With just 64 seconds left in the contest, O-G maintains a 62-44 lead.
