Football Season Quickly Approaching
August 2, 2012 - Seth Staskey
It's truly hard to believe. Football season is almost here. NFL Training Camps opened last week and the first pre-season game is Sunday in Canton at the Hall of Fame, the Ohio State Buckeyes open camp just a few short from me writing this on Friday morning and the high school players are already wrapping up their first full week of two-a-days.
Where did the summer go? It seems like the state track meet was just a few weekends ago, but here we are on the cusp of fall sports and the high school kids going back to class. WOW!
We, at The Times Leader, began our tours of area media days earlier this week and there are several more on the horizon in the next several days as we prepare to put together our annual Pigskin Preview.
The T-L Football Preview publishes on Tuesday, Aug. 21. From now until then, a lot of work remains. The first games of the prep season are on Thursday, Aug. 23 and a lot of work remains for the players and coaches, too. It's just a hectic time for everyone who is involved in sports.
While it's hectic, it's fun at the same time.
So, enough blogging. I've got 5 football previews to write. See-ya on the gridiron (really soon).
