My daughter's boyfriend was out riding his motorcycle taking advantage of the few warm days we have left to ride and as he and a friend cruised along a highway with vehicles traveling in both directions they spotted an overturned ATV in a field along the road.
No other motorist stopped or slowed down, but sensing something could be wrong they talked and decided to turn around and check out the situation.
Fortunately for the rider of the ATV they did, because upon parking their bikes they heard faint cries for help and found a woman pinned under the 4-wheeler. Using their cell phones they called 911 and lifted the vehicle off the lady and asked if she was alright.
Emergency response arrived and a life flight was called for but later determined to not be necessary.
These are just two 20 year olds, riding their motorcycles, an activity not typically associated with good deeds.
The pair simply got back on their motorcycles and rode off after the authorities arrived and got their statements. They looked in the local paper to see if there was any mention of the accident or their good samaritan deeds, but nothing was printed.
My daughter has not been dating this young man long, but if this is any indication of his character, then I feel it speaks volumes about him.
I just felt with so much negativity and bad press in the world today, I would take a moment to highlight a good deed.
