Remove The Mud

TUESDAY MARKS the end of 2012 election campaigning. It comes not a minute too soon. I have never witnessed such cut-throat campaigning at all levels. You do not know who to believe since ads are so contradictory. At the state and national levels, all candidates say they will save Medicare and their foe will cut it. Such cannot be true. The mudslinging started early in the campaign and continues on the threshold of the election. The negative ads, I believe, do more damage to a candidate than aid their cause. I, for one, get turned off by unfiltered bashing. If a candidate cannot champion his own cause without bashing his opponent, he may not have the credentials needed to gain voter approval. Unfortunately, clean campaigns, for the most part, appear have gone the way of the dinosaur. These people are supposed to be our leaders, yet they display a lack of character while stumping for our support. I am old-school, I wait until election day to cast my ballot. When I enter the polling booth Tuesday, I disregard party. Rather, I go with the candidates who handle themselves with decency and a measure of class.
