Vick Sentenced

The sentence has been handed down for Mike Vick. He was punished upwards of 23 months in a prison for his role in a dog-fighting outfit in which he bankrolled. The sentence seems a little lean to me. This guy put up the money for the killing of dogs in a bevy of ways. He just didn't get in trouble for drugs or a minor problem. He was involved in the killing of animals. I understand in terms of his celebrity the 23 months was a significant amount, but overall, this sentence is pretty soft. Hopefully, Vick becomes a little more wise during his stay in prison. Hopefully he realizes that he's one of the most gifted athletes in the world who has thousands of fans who look up to him. While, I am not a Vick fan, and you won't ever catch me with a Falcons #7 jersey on, I do respect his athletic ability. I also hope Roger Goodell tells this guy to take a hike all together from the NFL. I know he's currently suspended and hopefully, that becomes a life-long ban. Whether or not Vick is full rehabilitated after his nearly two-year stint in prison, we don't know, but we do know that when it comes to pick-up prison football games, there's a good chance Vick will be the first pick and the best player in the joint.
