| | Pirates Home OpenerApril 8, 2008 - Seth StaskeyI had the chance to take in the Pirates' opener at PNC Park and it was a tremendous atmosphere with close to 40,000 in the building to watch the start of another Buccos' season. Unfortunately, the Pirates fell behind 7-0 early in the game before battling back to knot the game at 8, but they fell 10-8 in 12 innings in a marathon game, which lasted nearly five hours. It's hopeful that fans come out and support this club all season. I am not a Pirates' fan, but having the opportunity to drive basically less than an hour to catch MLB is a great plus for the area fans. It's a beautiful ballpark and everyone who goes there has a great time. However, this is for certain, winning would make the time even more enjoyable for most fans who make the trip. While the Pirates might not have won their game Monday, just think there are still 80 more opportunities at PNC Park. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | |
