Pens Paranoia

Well, it's official, I think everyone is finally caught up in this Pittsburgh Penguins paranoia, which is going on in the Ohio Valley and beyond.

I was at a local establishment a little more than a week ago and I saw more Sidney Crosby sweaters than ever before. People are into this team. Is it the fact that they are somewhat close? Is it the fact they have unbelievable talent in guys like Crosby, Malkin, Malone, Hossa and Fluery or one of the countless others?

I think it's the fact that everyone loves a winner. It's easy to root for a team that's four wins away from hoisting the Cup, but where were these fans when the team was stinking it up, thinking of moving and playing so poorly, it pocketed the top pick and by jove picked Crosby.

I will admit, I am somewhat on the wagon. I was not wearing a jersey or a goalie mask, but I don't mind watching the games. Now if it were hockey in November, no thanks, but hockey in May when there's a lot on the line, I can handle it.
