July 24, 2008 - Seth Staskey
We are currently involved in what I tell people is the best week of the year. And some look at me like I am crazy and tell me I've been drinking way too much OVAC kool-aide and that's fine.

However, no one is going to convince me that the week leading up to the annual Rudy Mumley OVAC All-Star Charity Football Classic isn't the best. To bring together the area's most talented football players, cheerleaders, band members and some of the most talented ladies is something to behold.

The OVAC is first-class in all it does. They make every event more than just a game, it's an extravaganza that the people who take part will never forget for the rest of their lives.

I just hope those kids who are participating this weekend realize what they are involved in. I did not take part in any way when I was a high school kid, and I think that's one of the reasons I make the most of it now because it's a first-class event and I just want to be a part of it in some way.

We wish nothing but good luck to the players, coaches, band members, queens and cheerleaders this weekend. And we remind you to soak it all in because it will lead to stories to tell for the rest of your lives and most importantly friendships you'll never forget.
