We must say that we are quite impressed by the donation made by Cravat Coal last week, handing over a nice piece of land in Crawford Heights to the City of Martins Ferry with no questions asked. Free of charge. Cravat had a solid cash offer from a private party to purchase the land in order to build a house. Instead, the coal company opted to step up for the community and bypass financial gain. That is quite refreshing these days. As a result, children still have a playground they can call their own in Crawford Heights. It would be nice to see the generosity displayed by Cravat Coal become infectious around the Ohio Valley.
