The Ohio Valley has become a campaigning hotbed, both for local and national candidates. In a span of six days, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland has made two separate campaign trips to Bridgeport and Bellaire, respectively. That pales in comparison, however, to visits by each of the candidates for vice presidency. Republican Sarah Palin spoke at Brush Run Park Sunday and Joseph Biden is on tap for Ohio University Eastern Tuesday. Previously, John McCain was in Washington, Pa. and Barack Obama spoke at a farm near Smithfield. Such frequent appearances by the national tickets speak volumes of how much Eastern Ohio plays into the national picture. Now our part is to get to the polls and vote for the candidate of our choice.
